THE SKI TOURING EVENT IN THE CLARÉE VALLEY

Launch of the Buffère Trace, a ski touring route traced almost permanently and opening of the parktest: skiing, splitboard, DVA, airbags, shovels, probes... Come discover and test equipment (PLUM) and mountain safety (MAMMUT).

PRESENTATION OF THE ""LA BUFFÈRE TRACE"" ITINERARY

From the refuge, at 2076m, the almost permanently traced route leads to the summit of Echaillon, at 2578m, and descends towards the refuge via beautiful valleys.

Departure: Névache, Ville-Haute

Elevation differences:
- From Névache to the Buffère refuge: 480m.
- From the Buffère refuge to the summit of Echaillon: 502m.

Please note, this route is not marked, it is just suggested and to be carried out under your own responsibility. Under no circumstances can the Buffère refuge or previous tracers be held responsible in the event of accidents or incidents.

ON THE PROGRAM OF SKI TOURING DAYS

Take advantage of these 2 days on the theme of ski touring to discover and test PLUM ski equipment and MAMMUT safety equipment.

Program :

• Park PLUM equipment test

• DVA Park: tests with DVAs and professional advice

• Test and control of MAMMUT DVA

• Equipment test on the famous Buffère Trace

Do not leave without your safety equipment: transceiver, shovel, probe.
Go past the checkpoint at the refuge to check that your DVA is working properly!

The ski area will be open continuously from Saturday, December 6, 2025 to April 19, 2026.

Skiing in Serre Chevalier means skiing in an extraordinary area.
The largest ski area in the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier is also one of the largest in Europe. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you're sure to have a great time skiing down its slopes for all levels.

This ski area invites you to ski both through larch forests, typical of our region, and to reach the peaks for a true high-mountain experience. It connects three villages as well as Briançon, a town of over 10,000 inhabitants. Having a ski area adjacent to a town is a unique example in France!

The Serre Chevalier area in figures:

410 hectares of marked ski area
60 ski lifts including the iconic Serre Chevalier cable car: NEW 2023/2024 >> Serre Chevalier is modernizing with a new gondola lift which takes over from two old lifts, thus offering skiers quick and comfortable access to the splendid Méa plateau at 2,251 meters altitude.
80 runs (13 black, 28 red, 25 blue and 14 green)
80% of the slopes are located above 2,000 meters altitude for optimal snow cover.

The Montgenèvre ski area will be open every day from November 29, 2025.
The Montgenèvre International Resort offers several distinct areas, linked by skis: the Grand Montgenèvre and the Monts de la Lune.

It is the latter that forms the link with the Milky Way (Via Lattea) which, with 70 ski lifts and 400 kilometers of slopes in total, is the 5th largest ski area in the world!

In 2021, Terre Sauvage and its partners embarked on a challenge as audacious as it was exhilarating: the creation of a festival. And it was a success! So, it's back for another edition, and we'll see you in Névache in July 2027.

The idea was to offer a meaningful, intelligent, friendly, and festive event. The Terre Sauvage Festival aimed to move bodies and minds, to bring together those who share a passion for nature. Those who, with us, month after month, marvel at the beauty of nature. And it was a success.

The program includes photo exhibitions, conferences, concerts, shows, films, workshops for young and old...in July 2027 with the Terre Sauvage Festival, the world in its natural size will come to the whole Clarée Valley.

How do the Nordic nights work?

Immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the Val Clarée Montgenèvre Nordic Nights!

For whom?
From 3 to 99 years old, beginners or experienced, everyone is welcome! Form a duo for a memorable relay, whether you choose to do it for fun or for the ranking.

And after the effort?
A warming meal awaits you at each location, prepared in partnership with local schools and associations. By participating, you support their projects thanks to a portion of the registration fees being donated directly. To keep you warm, drinks are also served throughout the evening, thanks to local tourist offices and festival committees.

Don't forget your headlamps and warm jackets to fully enjoy this unique experience!
