The Clarée heritage

The Vallier brothers were famous bell founders from Briançon, whose fame has spread to all the Alps. From 1630 to 1884, generations of the Vallier family cast the bells that still ring today in the churches of the hamlets of Névache

The sundials that adorn the houses of high alpine villages demonstrated the wealth of the family. These sundials date from the 18th and 19th centuries. About twenty sundials are to be discovered during your walks in the villages.

Fortifications and frontier surveillance posts are still present (Fort de l'Olive, Fort Lenlon). The Vauban city of Briançon is a must in the region.
